How a full tooth is covered
The tooth is isolated, cleaned and dried, then the surface is prepped so the bond takes. Crystals are placed one at a time and tiled across the face of the tooth, then cured with a light. Because every stone is individually set, the coverage follows the natural curve of your tooth instead of sitting flat.
Which tooth to pick
A lateral incisor or a canine is the usual choice, because it catches light at an angle when you talk and smile without dominating the front of your mouth. A central incisor is the maximalist option. Placement near the biting edge takes more wear, so the design is kept clear of it.
Living with it
Do not eat for about an hour afterwards, and avoid sticky, crunchy and very hard food for the first 24 hours while the bond fully sets. Brush normally with a soft brush and do not run an electric toothbrush head straight over the crystals. Most sparkle lasts six months to a year; individual stones can be replaced if one goes missing.

- $80 for the Disco Tooth at GLAMSTHETICS SLC, which is a full tooth covered in crystals, in a 40-minute appointment. A single tooth gem starts at $25 and the Butterfly design is $65.
- Not when applied and removed properly. Nothing is drilled, and the crystals are bonded to the surface with dental-grade adhesive that a dentist can polish away cleanly. The damage risk comes from DIY kits and from prying stones off yourself.
- Usually six months to a year. You may lose the occasional individual crystal before that, especially near the biting edge, and those can be replaced without redoing the whole tooth.
- After the first 24 hours, yes. Avoid biting hard things with that tooth, skip chewing ice, and do not use your teeth to open anything. Coffee, wine and normal food are fine.
