Before you come in
Hair needs to be about a quarter inch long (roughly two weeks of growth) so the wax can grip it. Skip exfoliating the day of, avoid retinol on the area for a few days, and take an ibuprofen 30 minutes before if you are nervous about it.
Aftercare
For 24 hours: no hot showers, gym, sun or tight clothes on the waxed area. After 48 hours, gently exfoliate a couple of times a week to keep ingrowns away. Book your next wax every three to six weeks; it gets easier and lasts longer each time.
Pair it up
Most people tack a lip or brow wax onto a lash fill. Bikini wax plus a Pretty Kitty a week or two later is the smoothest combo on the menu.
Waxing FAQ
- Three to six weeks depending on the area and your hair growth. Regular waxing weakens the follicle over time so hair grows back finer and slower.
- About a quarter inch, or two weeks after shaving. Too short and the wax cannot grab it; too long and it is more uncomfortable. If it is long, trim to about half an inch.
- It stings for a second and then it is over. The first time is always the most sensitive; it gets noticeably easier with regular appointments.
- Yes. The studio is gender-neutral and LGBTQ+ friendly. Brow, nose, back and arm waxing are all popular.
