Why it beats shaving here
Underarm hair is coarse and grows in several directions at once, which is why a razor leaves stubble within a day or two and a shadow even when it is clean. Waxing pulls from the root, so you get three to six weeks of genuinely smooth skin and, over time, finer regrowth.
Deodorant, sweat and timing
Come with the area clean and skip deodorant on the day if you can; it clogs the follicle and irritates freshly waxed skin. Leave deodorant off for 24 hours afterwards too, and avoid the gym for the rest of the day. Switching to a gentler formula for a day or two helps if you react easily.
Stack it with something else
At 25 minutes, underarms are the classic add-on. Most people tack it onto a lash fill or a brow appointment rather than making a trip for it. Mention it when you book so the time is scheduled rather than squeezed.
Underarm Waxing FAQ
- $25 for a 25-minute underarm wax at GLAMSTHETICS SLC, and it can be added to another appointment if you say so when booking.
- Three to six weeks. On a regular schedule the regrowth comes in finer and more evenly, which stretches the gap over time.
- Often yes. A lot of underarm shadow is coarse hair sitting just below the surface rather than pigment in the skin. Removing it at the root usually lightens the look noticeably after a few appointments.
- Leave it off for 24 hours. Freshly waxed follicles are open, and most deodorants sting and can cause small bumps if applied straight away.
