What to Expect

01

Why backs break out

Back skin has larger, more active oil glands than facial skin, and it spends its day under fabric, backpack straps, sweat and conditioner residue from the shower. That combination clogs follicles faster than anything on your face, and it is almost impossible to exfoliate and extract at arm-stretch in a shower.

02

What the 70 minutes covers

A deep cleanse, an exfoliation suited to how reactive your skin is, steam to soften the follicles, manual extractions where they are needed, a calming or clarifying mask, and a light finishing product. Extractions are done to the point that is useful, not to the point of trauma.

03

Keeping it clear afterwards

Rinse conditioner off your back last in the shower, change out of workout clothes rather than sitting in them, and use a salicylic acid body wash two or three times a week. For a recurring problem, a back facial every four to six weeks does far more than one heroic appointment.
