Extractions done properly
Skin is softened with steam first so the follicle opens rather than tears. Pressure is applied around a clog, not on top of it, and anything that will not release is left alone for next time. Squeezing something that is not ready is how you get a scar instead of clear skin, and it is why at-home extraction usually backfires.
What this appointment can and cannot do
It clears congestion, blackheads and surface breakouts and makes your skincare work better afterwards. It is not a treatment for cystic or hormonal acne, which needs a dermatologist and usually medication. If that is what is going on, you will be told honestly rather than sold a course of facials.
The week after
Expect some redness for a few hours and the occasional purge spot within a few days as deeper congestion surfaces. Skip actives for 48 hours, wear sunscreen, and do not pick. Congested skin generally needs a cadence of every four to six weeks before it settles.

- The Old Fashioned Facial at $65, because it is built around a deep cleanse and manual extractions. If the breakouts are on your back or shoulders, book the back facial at $80 instead.
- You may see a few purge spots in the first week as deeper congestion comes to the surface, which settles. A facial should not cause a widespread breakout, and if your skin reacts that way it is worth changing the approach rather than repeating it.
- Tell us what you are taking when you book. Skin on isotretinoin or strong prescription retinoids is too fragile for extractions and waxing, and the honest answer is usually to wait until you are off it.
- One appointment visibly clears congestion. Changing how your skin behaves takes three or four appointments across a few months, alongside a home routine that actually gets used.
