Salt Lake summer runs on outdoor events: the Twilight Concert Series, Craft Lake City’s DIY Festival in August, Grid City Music Fest, and Days of ’47 at the end of July. Glitter, decals and loud color survive a long day outside far better than anything you glue on that morning. What they do not love is sunscreen, so here is the honest version.

What to Expect
Why extensions beat a strip at a festival
A strip lash has one job and it stops doing it around hour four, usually somewhere visible. Extensions are bonded to your own lashes, so there is nothing to lift at the corner, nothing to reglue in a portable toilet, and nothing sliding down your face at the Gallivan Center in August. After the first 24 hours of curing you can sweat in them, dance in them and swim in them.
Heat, sweat and sunscreen, honestly
Sweat on its own is fine once the adhesive has cured. The real problem is sunscreen: most facial SPF is oil-based, and oil is what breaks a lash bond down. Use a mineral stick around the eye rather than a lotion, keep it off the lash line itself, and cleanse with a lash-safe foam at night. A dusty, unwashed lash line sheds noticeably faster than a clean one.
Matching the set to the event
Twilight shows are evening events, so glitter and iridescent tips catch stage light and read well in photos after dark. Craft Lake City in August is full daylight, where saturated color and decals hold up better than sparkle. Days of ’47 falls in the hottest stretch of the year, which is an argument for a lighter classic base with color placed in the outer third. Book three to five days out either way.

- Glitter, color, decals and gems start at $10 on top of a set. A classic full set is $145, hybrid is $170 and volume is $200. If you already wear extensions, the cheapest route is adding glitter at a fill: $65 for a classic fill plus $10 for the add-on.
- Sweat will not, once the first 24 hours of curing are done. Oil-based sunscreen running into the lash line will, because oil degrades the adhesive. A mineral stick around the eye and a lash-safe cleanse at the end of the day solves most of it.
- Yes, after the first 24 hours. Rinse with fresh water afterward and cleanse properly, because chlorine and lake water both leave residue on the bond. Do not rub them dry with a towel; blot and let them air dry, then brush through with a spoolie.
