Colored Lashes for Green & Hazel Eyes
Green and hazel are the two eye colors that are not really one color. Green is usually a low-saturation mix with a gold or amber ring, and hazel visibly shifts between green, gold and brown depending on the light and what you are wearing. What to Expect
Plum, wine and burgundy for green
Red-purple sits directly opposite green on the color wheel, which is why plum and burgundy do more for a green iris than any other family of shades. They are also dark enough to behave like a liner, so a wine-colored outer third reads as depth first and as color second. Magenta is the loud version of exactly the same idea if depth is not what you came for.
With hazel you are choosing which color wins
Hazel holds green, gold and brown at once, and a lash color placed next to it amplifies whichever one it matches. A deep green lash brings the green forward and the eye reads green all day. Copper or amber pulls the gold ring out. A plum lash does neither and contrasts the whole iris instead. Decide which version of your eyes you want before you pick a shade.
Low saturation cuts both ways
Because green and hazel are muted to begin with, a very saturated lash color can out-compete the iris and become the thing people look at. Under flat office lighting that is often fine, since the eye color is washed out anyway and the lash carries it. In warm evening light, when hazel and green are at their most gold, dial the saturation back or the lashes win and the eyes disappear.
